I brought Guiness up from Lancashire Lops last year. He is a Black Otter who carries Chocolate. I rehomed Guiness as I needed to keep my numbers down, and I was advised to concentrate on type before colour. Guiness lives with my sister and her family but isn't too far away from us, so I may ask to use him in my lines at some point once I've established the type I am after. As you can see Guiness is a beautiful bunny and a completely spoiled pet. He is another real character who is very nosey and is much loved by all, except perhaps Milo the cat who is terrified of him.

Dylan is a special boy who almost died at a few days old. He was from Amber and Stella's first litter and is an Opal. Amber took a few days to get the hang of rearing babies! In the first few days I found a couple of kits out of the nest, so I starting checking on them in the middle of the night. On night 3, I found Dylan lying stone cold at the far corner of the hutch. I thought he was dead but had read somewhere not to be too hasty to give up when finding a cold kit. I brought the tiny little cold body into the house, initailly placing him next to my skin for warmth. I then wrapped him in warm towells and put him next to a radiator. After about 30 minutes there was some movement and gradually he got stronger. I kept him in the house for another couple of hours and then I put him back in the nest box with his siblings. The following morning I half expected to find him dead but to my delight he had survived. I felt a real sense of achievement, and had a very close bond with Dylan as he grew up. He was a real pet who followed me everywhere but I decided to rehome him when Stella started to bully him, and I could no longer let them run together.
Dylan is now living with Jude at Lunanhead lops; you can see him on her website.
My first French Lop. A really kind rabbit who got me hooked on the breed. Another real character who would come up and flop down beside us if we were sitting out in the garden during the summer months. She just loves people, although like all female rabbits she has a mind of her own at times.
Amber has gone to a new home where she is much loved and well cared for. She had a second litter (by mistake) and this confirmed what I already suspected. She did not carry self. I planned to have her spayed and keep her as a pet, but then I saw an advert from a lady who had just lost a Frenchie. She was looking for a female lop to replace her much loved pet. After some soul searching I decided to let Amber go. She went to live with Jaqueline and has settled really well. I will post updates later in the year to let you know how she is doing.
Meet Alvin. He belongs to Alistair and Sarah. They bought him in a pet shop in 2008 and he is a house bunny. Not sure of his breeding but clearly he has a Lop influence. He is another with a big character; he's a bit of a hippy at heart, very laid back (with the REW sway) and a bit crazy at times! He came for a visit to have a run in the garden; and of course to have his photo taken so he too can become famous!
We have 6 GPs. Mum and Dad (who we thought were both girls) had a surpise waiting for us one Dec morning in 2005. I openned up the shed door to feed the GPs and there were 4 perfectly formed little mini GPs running around. Mum was moved away from dad that day and when they were old enough all of the babies were found loving new homes. However 9 weeks later we awoke to a second surprise another 4 babies! This time we decided to keep all of the babies, and as mummy wasn't with daddy after the birth, there were no more little surprises! Mummy has lived very happily with her daughter (Sweetie Pie) since Feb 2006, and daddy has lived happily (give or take the odd tiff) with his 3 sons, Ratty, Scrappy and One Eye since then too. Needless to say we have kept boys and girls apart so no more baby GPs. Below are some pics of them:
Mummy (at the back) and Sweetie Pie (at the front) enjoying whats left of a parsley plant. Mummy sadly passed away in Dec 09 : ( she was a lovely little GP and is sadly missed by us and by Sweetie Pie.
Below are the boys. Daddy at front, Ratty to his left, Scrappy to his right, and little One Eye in the back corner. One Eye does have 2 eyes, but he had an injury as a baby and doesn't see so well out the other, hence the name. The boys live in a shed so have plenty of room to avoid each other when they need space : ) Daddy was 5 in Jan 09 so is quite old for a GP, but he is very healthy and fit, and is still the boss! The GPs run around the garden most days in the summer but this year a huge crow has taken a keen interest in them so I have to be very careful. Heidi my GSD keeps her eye on all the small furries when I have to pop back into the house. She seems to know Mr Crow is a real threat and sits down in the middle of the garden watching over everyone. It's quite funny really as the GPs run up to her and eat the grass around were she is sitting, and the baby rabbits run under her.
3 week old rabbit kit says hello to Heidi who is baby sitting as usual. Mum is in the background not bothering herself with the wee ones!! Heidi looks after all the little ones over the summer and seems to love her job!
